The Northeast Faculty Leadership Program (NFLP)

The Northeast Faculty Leadership Program: Success Through Diversity (NFLP) admits 20-25 tenured faculty members from the seven consortium universities annually.

Each year the program is held over five months during the spring semester. The program includes four days of skills and cross-institutional community-building workshops, a series of seminars about how universities operate, a component to create visibility, group work, and coaching on executive presentations.

For individual participants, the goals are:

  1. To increase critical career networks by building interdisciplinary and inter-institutional connections
  2. To enhance self-perception as a leader
  3. To learn from cross-disciplinary colleagues
  4. To refine leadership skills to increase the likelihood of moving into a leadership position

For consortium schools the goals are:

  1. To create a collaborative model for institutional joint projects
  2. To expand both research and leadership networks across the seven Boston-area institutions
  3. To develop a model for further developing faculty in STEM fields
